For a long time, we’ve thought that Klean Kanteen produced the very best insulated stainless steel water bottles—that’s why we carried them. Our admiration came not just from the fact that they use 18/8 food grade stainless steel and environmentally friendly and responsible materials to produce a durable and versatile high quality bottle that keeps hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold, but also because of their ingenious lids; one that won’t spill and the other that gives you quick access and easily disassembles for a full and thorough cleaning so you won’t smell yesterday’s coffee with every sip. And best of all, as a certified B Corporation, the family owned Klean Kanteen company works hard to bring benefit to the people and places they touch—and to keep single-use waste from trashing the world. Good people making a good product; what more could we want?
So imagine our delight when they introduced a leak-proof Café Cap 2.0; one innovative new cap that does the work of 2 by keeping hot and cold drinks safely contained—and completely spill free! Like all their wide bottles (and unlike most to-go mugs out there), our custom designed 16 ounce, wide mouth insulated Klean Kanteen is easy to clean and still comes with their Strong-As-Steel Lifetime Guarantee. And with three colors to choose from, we’ve got your whole family and your every mood—and beverage--covered!
Also, be sure pick up an NPR bottle sling to go along with your new Klean Kanteen!
Back in 2002, there were no stainless steel water bottles for personal hydration, and the health and environmental issues linked to plastic use were not widely known. Seeing the issues early and clearly, Robert Seals, the inventor and founder of Klean Kanteen®, began cobbling together the first prototype with things he bought at the local hardware store in Chico, California.
The Klean Kanteen torch was passed to the Cresswell family in 2005, and they have built upon Seals' original vision by developing an ever expanding line of durable stainless steel solutions to replace toxic plastic and displace single-use container pollution. With the mentorship of their father Darrel Cresswell, brother/sister team Jeff Cresswell and Michelle Kalberer have shepherded the company through the challenges of growth and expansion and are both at the forefront of the company's charitable work and policy advocacy.
Klean Kanteer is a small, family-owned and -operated company in northern California with more than 30 years of history and an enduring commitment to product and service excellence. They treat their customers like good neighbors and their partners like dear friends. They have stakeholders, not shareholders, and their bottom line is simple: to provide affordable, safe, healthy, high quality products and accessories and to promote and encourage health, sustainability and environmental awareness.
