Sound Portraits Sampler

One evening, just after Thanksgiving of 1998, radio station WNYC in New York let radio documentary producer David Isay have two hours of air time to talk about and celebrate the first ten years of his radio work. This disc is a compilation of that program, a couple of hours with two friends sitting around a studio, reaching into a box of remarkable tapes and sharing a decade of memories. Includes excerpts from The Sunshine Hotel, Remembering Stonewall, Hunan Chef and others.
