Host Willie Nelson takes us across The Lone Star State in this lively hour of stories from KUT Austin and NPR. Explore the history of Texas through food—told by people who find it, grow it, cook it, eat it, sell it, share it, and celebrate with it. In exotic locations like cowboy kitchens, cotton picker kitchens, and oil barrel barbeques, The Kitchen Sisters present fascinating stories including the birth of the Frito, barbeque pits on the moon, and the first 7-Eleven and Slurpee -- all laced with a soulful Texas soundtrack. Features Dallas-born actress Robin Wright Penn, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Los Lonely Boys.
