We'd like to tell you a story...
Each week on NPR stations nationwide, great actors from stage, screen and television bring short stories to life. Selected Shorts is an award-winning, one-hour program featuring readings of classic and new short fiction, recorded live at New York’s Symphony Space. One of the most popular series on the airwaves, this unique show is hosted by Isaiah Sheffer and produced for radio by Symphony Space and WNYC Radio.
Selected Shorts features Broadway and Hollywood actors reading stories by established masters and bold new writers. These readings were recorded in front of a live audience in New York City and are broadcast on public radio all over the country. Selected Shorts cassettes and CDs are the perfect companion for commuting, exercising, cooking, and relaxing. Better than just a book on tape, these are the cream-of-the-crop stories you’ll want to enjoy over and over again—and they make great gifts for every reader on your list.
Over three hours of compelling classic short stories. Includes classic greats by Edith Wharton, Shirley Jackson, Jack London, D.H. Lawrence and many more, read by fine stage and screen actors.
