Christopher O'Riley At the Break is a compilation of 29 pieces performed by the renowned concert pianist and host of From the Top's radio show. Each piece was performed at the mid-point of a From the Top broadcast, a break of approximately two minutes during which many stations insert local announcements.

According to Chris O'Riley, "This collection serves as a fondly renewed acquaintance with some favorites of mine as well as some pieces a bit further off the beaten path. For other listeners, this is a great group of exquisite miniatures -- a premiere entree into many new worlds."

Among the highlights on this CD are eight works by Sergei Rachmaninoff, of which O'Riley says simply, "I love Rachmaninoff, who is arguably the greatest pianist of the 20th century."

At the Break also features five works by Rameau and two character pieces by Argentinean composer Carlos Guastavino. In addition, the disc presents works by Bartok, Chopin, Davies, Debussy, Delibes, Guaraldi, Milhaud, Mozart, Poulenc, Prokofiev, Schumann and Severac.
